COVID-19 testing operations extended in West Sac

Post Date:06/30/2020 1:13 PM

Due to increased demand for COVID-19 testing, operations at Club West in West Sacramento will continue through Saturday, July 25. The decision to extend was made by Yolo County health officials in coordination with the City of West Sacramento after 636 individuals were tested last week, and all appointments for this week filled up. Club West is located on the north side of Bryte Park, at 1125 Riverbank Road.

Testing in West Sacramento is by appointment only, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., by calling: (888) 634-1123 or completing an online application at: http://lhi.care/covidtesting.

Testing is open to anyone in the community regardless of documentation status. If residents do not have health insurance, the cost of the test will be covered by the state. If residents have health insurance, their provider will be billed with no out of pocket cost.

The site has been located in West Sacramento since June 2 and, with this extension to July 25, will be in West Sacramento a total of eight weeks. The OptumServe site was previously in Woodland for four weeks of testing, from May 5 – 30. As of June 27, a total of 4,143 residents have been tested through OptumServe in Yolo County, with 1,856 people being tested in Woodland and 2,287 in West Sacramento.

This is not antibody testing; this is to test if individuals currently have COVID-19. Children under the age of 12 will not be tested at this location due to health and safety reasons. Residents must wear a face covering to their appointment and practice social distancing. This location is not a drive-thru so residents will need to park their car and walk a short distance to the building. OptumServe will be able to test up to 135 people a day with test results available within 48 to 72 hours.
